After a very hard-fought campaign, South Ribble Conservatives secured a comfortable victory for Councillor Alan Platt in the Chorley Borough side of our constituency. Alan beat off Reform's incumbent County Councillor with a majority of 210, securing 1207 votes on a huge turnout for a local election.
In addition, our first-timer candidate Ethan Howarth won a very respectable 558 votes in the Eccleston, Heskin and Charnock Richard ward: the third highest of any Conservative candidate in Chorley.
The hard work now continues to defend local green spaces from speculative planning applications, and to oppose Reform UK's plans to merge Chorley and South Ribble with Blackburn.
